Hernandez v. Iberia Airlines
Patino & Associates represented a group of former employees of the Spanish airlines Iberia in an age-discrimination lawsuit. The plaintiffs ranged from former high-level executives to entry-level ticket agents. The one thing these employees had in common: All were over 50 and had lost their jobs with Iberia. The company claimed the employees were let go because of corporate restructuring that had nothing to do with their ages. The evidence told another story. Iberia ended up settling the case for several million dollars, prompting Patino & Associates to score an important victory for middle-aged employees facing age discrimination in the workplace.
